Chaparral Arms Celebrates the Old West

DAYTON, OHIO—Chaparral Arms, a joint US-Italian venture producing high-quality Old West replica firearms, are now available for purchase in the United States.

Nick Ecker, owner of Connecticut-based Charter Arms (www.charterfirearms.com) first proposed the idea of a partnership to produce replica firearms for the American market. This idea eventually evolved into a new company, Chaparral Arms, which launched in Europe in 2005.

Now, to serve North American cowboy shooters, Chaparral ships finished gun parts to Charter’s Shelton, Conn. facility. There, Charter craftsmen assemble the parts, assure strict quality control and test-fire each weapon.

The Chaparral product offering features replicas of the Winchester 1876, 1873, and 1866 rifles and carbines, as well as the Colt 1873 Peacemaker revolver. Models are available in a variety of finishes and calibers. Information on ordering and availability is located at the Chaparral website.

“The cowboy shooter isn’t just buying a gun; he’s buying a little piece of history,” says Charles Brown, Chaparral’s Director of North American Sales and Marketing. “He wants authenticity and craftsmanship. That’s what Chaparral delivers—and we stand behind the product.” According to Brown, Chaparral’s dedicated domestic support base offers a distinction from other Italian imports. Not only does Charter provide assembly and quality control—it also performs all warranty service.
